The first guy is truely world class opera singer , his angelic voice and his control only the professional trained voice and talented can sing and he sing with such passion and soulful . . He should be on world stage performance.

@DreamyDimple he didn't stray from the original accidentally, he purposefully crafted his arrangement of the song to fit his voice better. However, he still has the best version and killed it.

Sometimes it's not that the judges don't want to press the button… but it was because they can't imagine what else they can teach them…

But the True goal of this show is finding the voice... Not automaticaly teaching something to them
When it comes to opera, the judges are completely outclassed. They're masters with their instruments. And it is sad that opera isnt widely accepted in the mainstream.
Or you are italian...as me.
It's not as well known and most auditions I have heard that were opera, or just something other than the normal mainstream music they keep saying that they are good, but they never choose them
It is getting better since Pavarotti sang Nessum Dorma at one of the World Cups - soccer I think, I am not into sport. I don't think it will ever take off fully for the younger ones, not enough for them to sit through an entire opera, definitely not Wagner's Ring Cycle (I couldn't sit through the hours and hours of that either - not my cup of tea, but Madame Butterfly is one I have seen and I loved the music and knew the story which helps) but they do appreciate some of the more popular arias and fully appreciate the voices singing those arias and the training that has gone into those voices. I watch a rapper's surprised face when he heard Pavarotti sing Nessum Dorma and he appreciated it and judging by his facial expressions liked it also. There will always be those that like the full opera and those that do not.

I won't say that opera is not accepted it's mostly cause it's not widely popular as other genres and not a lot of people sing opera 🤷

Rise Up from the Netherlands by far was the best rendition and most moving performance.

Judges don't turn when the singer is too good for them, like the first one
The reason the judges don’t turn for opera singers is because they don’t know how to teach them. Especially the level on which the first guy was.

Loved the first 3 contestants. Luke Swatman's "Il Mare Calmo Della Sera" was excellent. Hope to hear more of him. Liked the rendition of Hanna Czarnecka of "Diva's dance" from " The fifth Element". Loved Yahto Kraft's "Never enough" better than the original.
Cantores magníficos, cantam com o coração e a alma. Não entendo como enrolam tanto pra virar as cadeiras, alguns jurados, sei que é pra dar mais emoção, mas tem uns que não tem como, só na primeira nota cantada, eu viraria. O primeiro me arrepiou todo e não compreendi como todos não viraram, assim como os jurados, acho que eles não estão escutando direito, só pode.
Anyone that can nail fifth element shouldnt have taken so long to turn hitting those notes. Beyond incredible.
Diva Dance is really hard, but there were definitely some rough patches and some of the notes sounded a little wonky to me. If might have just been because I’m not too familiar with the piece, but her low notes were really rough and she lacked control in the staccato. She was able to hit all the notes with clarity, but it just wasn’t “nailed” quite yet. Part of that is just cuz it’s a hard song. Not her fault
Nessun dorma gets me every time! I remember playing it in concert band and it giving me chills every damn time! One of the most beautiful songs ever

The first guy had a stunning voice. I was actually very surprised that Tom did not turn around. Especially coming from a guy who has a stunning voice himself. That he would have appreciated the quality and the hard work that goes into creating a voice so beautiful. That should have been enough for him to turn his chair around.

@Tomás Vittino they were pritty good but you have to watch Dimash Kudaibergen singing The Diva Dance. For male it's outstanding.
@Jess M The original was touched up by computer because Inva Mula couldn't switch between lower and higher notes. At the times it was said that it was "impossible for the human voice". I've heard so many people faking it. Evgenia Laguna for example.
Very few people do this right: Jane Zhang can pull this off. Also you can search for disneydiva7. This girl did amazing considering that was an open audition. Only very few classicaly trained soprano can pull this off.
@A Kohli That song is a bitch of a song, very few people can pull that up, specially the back and forth between high pitch and low notes.
Inva Mula the soprano that sung this on the Fifth Element couldn't do it and she was trained lirically. They had to make some of the notes on a computer.
I've heard only very few people that can pull this up in a controlled enviroment. And she did it on stage. She couldn't hit the last note, but the control was amazing considering the circumstances.
