@James Simmons ...and i actually loved Vendulka's version of "Karma Chameleon".... I also liked David Julien. He reminded me of Phillip Phillips from USA. He was the Idol Winner in 2012. I believe David Julien would get better in time. He had a humbling quality.
However, so many different styles and we know they are all talented in some good way. Hannah Goebel did really good with Alicia Keys song, too.

The guy covering “Do you really want to hurt me?” was amazing!! Kudos for not only crushing that song but not missing a beat after realizing his dream and having Boy George and the others turn around.

@Thomas Moreel pitch correction Is a thing! Is not the same as autotune (and personally i hate when they confuse both) pitch correction can be and it's mostly applied live as well a reverb, it's something basic that you do in the mixer
Well... I'm afraid it was a bit auto tuned... :/ I've heard it in other performances in different countries in THE VOICE... What a shame !

My GOD....that last girl that sang Karma Chameleon was insane. She totally rewrote the song and it was bloody brilliant.

As awesome as it was to see Boy George's response to DYWTHM, I LOVE Kelly's reaction. Kelly Rowland has always struck me as someone who is really genuine about her passion for music and her love of other performers. You can see it in her eyes when she turns around and starts singing with him, she's in awe of his talent.

I can imagine Mika's songs are really hard to perform on shows like this to judges due to how unique Mika's voice and style is to him, so you are almost forced to take a different direction when performing it, which is always riskier.
When you don't realize it's your song until it gets to the chorus.
You know you’ve done a good job remaking a song when the original artist enjoys what you’ve done BEFORE realizing it’s their song. Bravo 👏🏼

Am I the only one who thinks the block buttons are really unfair to the people auditioning? For example, the girl who sang If I Ain’t Got You, what if it was her dream to work with Alicia? What if she was her idol and desperately hoped she would turn for her? Idk it seems unfair to me

its a show, the only real disservice to contestants is getting screwed over by their record label if they make it far. besides working with a coach you may not have expected to like is part of it especially as the competition goes on they might get stolen in battles/knock outs. also you have to keep in mind that contestants dont spend a whole lot of time with their coach anyways so its almost like it doesnt actually matter lol

I love these because of the visible internal struggle the coach in question has when they hear their song.
It goes from "do they have a good voice" to something deeper.
I can't explain it in words, but when someone does something you're known for, there's a deeper feeling than recognizing what goes into the act itself.
I can watch that Boy George reaction over and over again and laugh each time. I don't think he recognized his own song that first time either right away.

it takes a lot of guts to go up there and sing a song for the person who co-wrote it and made it famous. And to change it SO MUCH that it is basically a whole new song inspired by the original... that is why he didnt recognized it at first. but it was a great song and well performed so the risk paid off :)

The version of karma chameleon was absolutely stunning.
music becomes a whole lot stronger when the singers emotions align with the song, and altough the song of boy george was about heartbreak, and the singer was crying of joy it is still a very powerfull emotion that would make one cry in the first place, especialy when the lyrics litteraly spell out that they are making him cry however in this case not of pain but of joy..... and this makes the song that much better to watch and listen too

sory come from the Netherlands and we didn't do that so thats why i was so surprised
on top of this: the audition sing is almost never exclusively chosen only by the contestant. they normally get a list and can pick a few they actually like and feel like they can perform them, the ultimate choice is with the production
